I hope they're nerfed into oblivion....they were a bad mechanic anyway and the hall marks of AVers and Tankers alike who couldn't do their jobs right.

Not trying to be a jerk, but it was honestly not fair. And this is coming from a AV guy. Its ok, you are entitled to your opinion and need not apologise. However please see my above post. It was only "unfair" that you could switch to a free suit. (Some people also had free LAV`s)
Not it was unfair that with less than 100,000 ISK you could make an instant kill magic homing missile that moved at 100kmph and had the on board guidance slightly more intelligent than a raccoon but still enough to take it directly into the hull of its intended target.
And with a many "hyuk hyuks" the on board guidance re-spawns to do it all over again........

I suggest to be as aware as humanly possible. Level lay out - LAV`s struggle like hell to gain any speed or direction unless they are on the tarmacked road. Offroad and across hills not only is a tank generally faster, it also gives many an opportunity to shoot at the Jihad LAV as it fumbles over the mud and stuff.
I know this but reacting to one it more difficult.
Rails and Missiles are unreliable as their tracking is poor and if they detonate the LAV too close you still go up in smoke and the large blaster is a weapon based on pure luck rather than aim.
Prior to 1. 8 I could pick the remotes on a Jihad individually now I'd be damn lucky to even hit where I'm aiming.

Dude it was 3 months.... three ******* months at the start of this year..... after Upriing 1.0 through 1.6 having AV uttered wipe the floor with vehicles and deny them a place on the battlefield.

You can't expect infantry to understand at all. I dare all of you to spend that $20 and spec into a vehicle. You won't do it and you know why.
Quite the contrary who wouldn't spec into Shield HAV?
Ask them to spec into Armour HAV and attempt to fill their slots.
Actually ask them to try and make anything better than a standard module fit on a Soma/ Madrugar and then competitively play with that.

Yes, you can tell armor HAV is in a bad place when Milkman switches to a Gunnlogi.
He's been Gunnlogi-ing since 1.7 and people were too thrilled with that broken piece of **** the Tripple rep maddy to notice how epic Shield HAV were.

I'm skilled into both, tanks and ADS as well though I'm not very good at staying stable in the ADS.
I can't fly DS for ****..... used to be a recurring joke in Dead Six that you didn't fly with Harkon because he was going to crash you into a mountain.

This is an invalid argument. First of its not "insta kill magic homing missile". If you are that bad of a tanker that the moment someone starts the engine on a J-LAV you consider your death imminent, then maybe you need more practice. Its piloted by a human prone to error but hellbent on sharing some of the pain your tanks been dealing out. Commander Bolt is right when he says the ONLY problem was switching to a free suit. if someone had to keep their mine fit for the suicide run, thats the suit would cost about 40,000. Plus 20,000 for the LAV and thats 60,000ISK; the cost of a base HAV. If someone wants to burn 60,000ISK going after your tank, what difference is it if its a suicide LAV at that cost or a forge fit at that cost or a double swarm commando at that cost. All those fits at that price range could solo demolish a 100,000ISK HAV. My 75K shield HAV could demolish a 100,000ISK tank. The problem with you, and this community at large, is that you all expect everything to be done textbook fashion. This is the way to do that, this is the way to do this, ect. Then when someone comes along and does something you weren't expecting, you seek to invalidate it. It doesnt matter if you like it or not....do you still have the affected tanks? No? they were destroyed. You lost, cased closed. Thats what I say when a proto fit shotguns my milita fit in the back. You got hit and killed by a J-LAV because you weren't paying attention. You had no situational awareness. Its your job as an HAV pilot to have situational awareness and be paying attention. Dont blame the LAV for hitting you, blame yourself for your failure to prevent or stop it. And be glad it wasn't an Imperial owned vehicle you lost due to complacency.
I don't seek to invalidate clever gameplay..... but ramming a jeep packed with explosives into a tank is not clever and its generally speaking a poor mechanic IMO.
